HOMEHEROLOCAL HELP

Marketplace FAQ

Practical answers for finding help, working with a Hero, and growing your local business.

Getting started

Meet your local Heroes and learn where HomeHeroLocal is available.

What is a Hero?

A Hero is a local service professional with a profile on HomeHeroLocal. You can explore their services, compare options, and discuss your job directly. You choose who to hire and agree on the work and payment with them.

Can I continue my search after signing in?

You can return to the selected Hero or service after signing in or creating an account. Confirm your service location again when asked. Signing in does not automatically send a message, save a Hero, or create a request.

Quotes & chats

Understand private replies and neighborhood conversations.

Can I request quotes from more than one Hero?

Yes. Send one job request to up to five eligible Heroes. Each Hero replies in a separate private conversation, so you can compare responses and choose who to hire.

Find services
What is the difference between Shared chats and Hero chats?

Shared chats, also called Neighborhood chats, let neighbors and a Hero discuss a shared service need. Hero chats are private one-to-one conversations. Open Messages to find both. Keep exact addresses, job photos, scheduling, and payment details in private Hero chats.

When do I need an account and verified email?

You can browse public Hero profiles, reviews and photos without an account. Sign in and verify your email before saving Heroes, starting chats, sending quote requests, or submitting reviews. Your account keeps requests and conversations together. Reviews also require eligible customer-confirmed completed work.

Will my chat history and attachments always be available?

Chat history is available while a request is active and for a period afterward. Older closed chats may become read-only, and their attachments, message text, and eventually chat history can be removed under our retention rules. Save important job information you need to keep. While an account remains open, requests, completions, reviews and support records follow their own retention rules. Confirming account deletion removes ordinary account history under the deletion policy described below; a job’s historical activity does not block deletion.

Jobs & reviews

Hire directly, confirm completed work, and share your experience.

How do I hire and pay a Hero?

Use a private Hero chat to agree on the scope, price, and schedule, then hire the Hero directly. You pay the Hero outside HomeHeroLocal using the method you agree on together. HomeHeroLocal does not process job payments or take a job commission.

When can I leave a review?

After the Hero marks the work complete and you confirm that it is finished, an eligible request can be reviewed. You must be signed in with a verified email, and your review must follow our review policies. Starting a chat alone does not unlock a review.

Hero access & packages

Understand your free beta, appearances, and future package preference.

How does the three-month free beta work?

Every new Hero receives exactly three calendar months free, with 200 qualified appearances in each free-beta month. No card or bank information is required. Your package choice is only a future preference. When the free beta ends, new discovery pauses with no automatic charge or paid activation. Existing authorized conversations, requests, completion steps, and reviews remain available, subject to chat retention rules.

What counts as a qualified appearance?

An appearance counts when your Hero card is included in eligible search results shown to a signed-in Customer for a supported service and area. Guest browsing, direct profile visits, favorites, existing chats, and quote comparisons do not count. Equivalent searches across web and mobile within 30 minutes count only once. An appearance does not guarantee a message, quote request, or job.

What happens when I use all 200 appearances?

New qualified search appearances pause until your next free-beta month begins, if another month remains. After your free beta ends, new discovery stays paused. Existing authorized conversations, requests, active work, completion steps, and reviews remain available, subject to chat retention rules.

Does my package improve my ranking or trust?

No. Every free-beta month includes 200 qualified appearances, whatever your future package preference. Search ranking continues to reflect service relevance, area, distance, availability, profile readiness, and marketplace quality signals. Packages do not buy ranking, leads, replies, quotes, reviews, or trust, and your preference is not a public badge.

How do Starter, Growth, and Unlimited differ?

For future reference in the DMV, Starter is $49.99/month with 100 qualified appearances per subscription cycle, Growth is $99.99/month with 200 qualified appearances per subscription cycle, and Unlimited is $199.99/month with Unlimited qualified appearances. Your choice is a future preference only. It does not change your free-beta allowance, and no paid package is automatically selected or activated.

Can I change my future package preference?

Yes. Change Starter, Growth, or Unlimited in Billing before or after the free beta ends. This changes only your future preference; it does not extend your free beta, restore paused discovery, or activate a paid package. If paid membership becomes available later, HomeHeroLocal will ask for fresh agreement and payment authorization.

Where can I review my usage and package preference?

On the web, check your Hero dashboard or Billing for your free-beta dates, monthly usage, remaining capacity, and future package preference. In the mobile app, open Home, then Free beta & usage. To change your future preference, use Billing on the web.

Are there lead fees, message fees, or commissions?

No. HomeHeroLocal does not charge lead, reply, message, or quote fees, or take a job commission. The free beta requires no card or bank information, and there is no automatic charge or paid activation when it ends. Customers pay Heroes directly outside HomeHeroLocal.

What do the numbers on my dashboard mean?

The confirmed-jobs meter shows your lifetime customer-confirmed completed jobs. Performance totals use the period you selected. Hired jobs you report are private, unverified outcomes and are separate from customer-confirmed jobs. The meter is informational; reaching a milestone does not grant a badge, better ranking, or other marketplace benefits.

Account, privacy & safety

Manage your account, deletion, privacy information and safe communication.

How do I delete my account?

Open Security on the website or mobile app, choose Delete account, enter your current password, and confirm that you understand. No administrator approval is needed. You are signed out on every device as soon as your request is accepted. Completed deletion cannot be undone.

What is removed when I delete my account?

Your account, Hero profile if any, chats, requests, uploads, reviews including comments and stars, and ordinary account, security, agreement and safety records are removed through automatic cleanup. Other people’s accounts are not deleted. Save job information you need before confirming. Deletion does not cancel your direct contract, payment, warranty or other obligation with another person.

What happens to reviews and a Hero’s completed-job total?

A deleted Customer’s written reviews and star ratings are removed, including their contribution to review counts and averages. A surviving Hero may keep only an anonymous lifetime completed-job total for genuinely Customer-confirmed work. It contains no individual job, Customer identity, review score, date or location. It is not recent or local job proof. The total is removed if the Hero deletes their profile.

Can I join again using the same email?

Yes. Once account closure releases your email, you can create a new account and verify it again. Your new account starts fresh. It cannot recover deleted chats, files, reviews, agreement history or access to earlier jobs.

Is all deletion finished immediately?

Account access ends immediately, but data and file cleanup starts at the next scheduled run while the database and scheduler are running. Storage failures or specific legal holds can delay completion. A pending receipt does not mean cleanup is complete. Keep your request reference and contact legal@homeherolocal.com for updates. We attempt a completion email without keeping your email for retries.

What remains after deletion, and for how long?

We keep one small receipt containing only a random request reference, dates and outcome for 90 days after cleanup completes, then delete it automatically. There is no full account archive. Only specific records required by a documented legal obligation or valid preservation hold may remain; unrelated records are still deleted. The anonymous Hero completed-job total described above is separate. Backups, delivered emails and provider logs expire under their separate retention processes.

How do I report harmful content or block another user?

Guests can report published profiles, reviews and photos. Sign in to report private messages or block an account. Authorized safety staff review reports and may remove content or restrict an account. Manage blocked users in account settings. Reporting or blocking does not cancel a job agreement. For immediate danger, call emergency services. You can also contact legal@homeherolocal.com.

Where can I read the Privacy Policy or contact support?

Open Privacy Policy in the mobile Account settings or the website footer. The current legal policy is available in English. Account settings also provide Support / Contact and the Marketplace FAQ. For privacy, deletion or safety questions, contact legal@homeherolocal.com.
